Working with Gauteng tourism authority, was an extremely exciting and challenging project. To tell the story of Gauteng we needed to shoot hundreds of people at locations and activities all over the province. Overly crafted and art directed shots would not create the desired effect. The images needed to be believable and delightful rather that aspirational and glossy. So we used real people, not models, for the whole campaign. This is what really made the shoot special. Over 200 people eagerly signed model releases and helped us capture their moments just because they love Gauteng and South Africa and wanted to be a part of promoting Gauteng and encouraging tourism.
